If you grew up in a Latino household, you may have once asked your mom or abuelita why their food was SO good. What did they put in it?

 That's the secret ingredient in each Canasta street taco, tostada and burrito you sink your teeth into. It's made with love for our culture, and with a deep appreciation for our cuisine.

I grew up in the kitchen. My family owned restaurants and butcher shops. I spent more time in their restaurants and shops than I did outside riding my bike. I could barely see over the counters, but I knew then that food was my passion. Canasta is special to me for many reasons, but mainly because our special ingredient - just like our ancestors’ - is love.

This is not a typical taco truck. We were tired of looking for a good place to eat - a place that would remind us of the traditional dishes, the real stuff - and we simply couldn’t find one that measured up. Now that we have a restaurant as well, we can bring you more recipes to taste and enjoy!
